How Entrepreneurs Prepare For The week Ahead- The Marie Stuart Noel way!

This is a question I get ask often, how do entrepreneurs organize their work week? First and foremost, read the book, 4-hour work week or get it on audible.

I take note from that book and plan the week ahead on Sunday nights. I add as little as possible to my to do list.

As an Entrepreneur, my time feels scarce all the time. So I think in terms of what must I be present for and what I do not have to be physically present for.

Example of what I need to be present for:

  • Doctor’s appointments
  • Spending time with my mom and family members
  • Weekly accountability meeting
  • Handling of financial documents and invoices (I still don’t feel comfortable handing someone my finances wholeheartedly)
  • Writing blog entries (Yes, I can outsource them but I actually enjoy writing. it’s therapeutic for me)
  • Modeling photoshoots
  • Product promotions
  • Networking events
  • Listening to audible books
  • Reading business and mindfulness articles

What I do not have to be present for:

  • Shopping (food and other essential items)
  • Spending hours on nonsense meetings and phone calls
  • Driving around running errands that can be done easily by someone else (going to the post office is one I dislike)
  • Doing household chores that I can pay someone to do for me (laundry, cleaning, etc…)

It’s important to distinguish between the types of activities that ties you down, and the ones that  lighten your work load. Being busy doesn’t include productivity. Remove items off your plate, and outsource them to someone more capable at doing that task better than you can. Prepare for the week ahead by minimizing your to-do list and maximizing their to do list to increase your income.

I’m listening to The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated) by Timothy Ferriss, narrated by Ray Porter on my Audible app. Try Audible and get it here.
